Unless you were stuck under a rock, ala Aron Ralston — no, probably even he would’ve caught last night’s finale to the ultimate drama on television right now, Breaking Bad. If you haven’t, what the hell are you doing here??? Go find a friend with hulu, a DVR, whatEVER, and watch.
Favorite trio Above & Beyond first made this song back in April, and with the unbelievably epic show last night, I had to share this delicious revamp…
Update (9/15): With a full leak coming two days in advance, here is the official version of “You Make Me” :)
I can’t wait any longer– Quick on the curtails of the announcement of his closing set for the first night of the ever-epic Electric Zoo comes an ‘exclusive’ rip of the second single from Avicii’s forthcoming album, entitled “You Made Me”…and it’s damn good.
So my favorite Mexican food chain and my favorite vegan radical indie/emo singer (Fiona Apple) just found one another and produced one of the most powerful advertising spots I’ve ever seen… ♥ Chipotle
We saw airy vocals and heavenly melodies in his last album, “Fire & Ice”, but Kaskade‘s latest album, “Atmosphere” (iTunes), has a much darker feel almost resemblant of the latest fad-genre, deep house. With three tracks labeled simply after airport terminals (“MIA to LAS” is a favorite), and only half with vocals, it’s clear Kaskade wants to be separated from his established position in house music. Yet…I hold onto my favorite discotheque-Kaskade days and proclaim my favorite to be this speedy, upbeat track. Either way, buy this albummmm…
One little raver-rant though, after the break (if you care)…
I felt in the air, I swear. That foreboding silence of an oncoming major record… Avicii’s “True”.
Not due ’til September 13th, the album leaked almost a month early, and can be listened to in its entirety on YouTube. The album stays the course of Avicii’s latest country twang, but brings back that familiar happy, dance-party sound we all first fell for… All in all: damn good. Available for pre-order on iTunes here.
Update (9/3): In case you’d forgotten just how epic Ultra XV had been, UMF TV today released another recap movie of the event… Early bird and advance tickets have sold out, but general admission to 2014’s festival are still available at the cheap price of $399.95…
Update (9/02): I wasn’t sure how to write this update. After an amazing Friday and Saturday at the zoo, I woke up on Sunday to the heartbreaking notification that day three had been canceled. After a press release from the mayor, it became clear our idyllic days had not been so perfect for all. I was terrified to read of the deaths and comas of several fellow ezooers (more). As an EMT, musician, and fellow zoo-fanatic, it frightens me to think our once penultimate, happy and welcoming culture has changed.
