13-04-09 electric zoo

Update (9/02): I wasn’t sure how to write this update. After an amazing Friday and Saturday at the zoo, I woke up on Sunday to the heartbreaking notification that day three had been canceled. After a press release from the mayor, it became clear our idyllic days had not been so perfect for all. I was terrified to read of the deaths and comas of several fellow ezooers (more). As an EMT, musician, and fellow zoo-fanatic, it frightens me to think our once penultimate, happy and welcoming culture has changed.

Educate yourself. Don’t be a victim. Visit DanceSafe.org for more information.

Update (8/30): TODAY’S THE DAY! Be safe, and have a great zoo !! Remember, if you or one of your 30,000 best friends need help, look for these symbols around the grounds:

Update (12:45pm): Set times are out! Come and get ’em!

Update (8/19, 6:40am): Made Event has just updated the Electric Zoo iPhone app, which features a map of the expanded grounds, descriptions of new vendors and art installations — including a new ‘Sea of EZ’, wherein fans can marvel at “thousands of silver fish swimming in a giant tornado,” whatever that means — and of course, the lineup. Other features have been added as well, including a camera and location-finder, but some bugs still exist. Additionally, without the schedule, only your favorite artists sync from the web site. Get the new app on iTunes, and start countin’ down the days…!

Update (7/09): With summer off to a quick, hot start, the peeps at Made Events are getting antsy waiting for this year’s Electric Zoo, and released this shexy new trailer… Also, 3-day passes with ferry lift are about to sell out, so grab yours quick or you may be stuck waiting in line for that dreadful shuttle…

Update (6/04): The moment you’re waiting for has arrived! Click here for the full lineup of this Labor Day’s Electric Zoo Festival, adding amazing artists from across the board on several labels — Dim Mak, Boysnoize Records, OWSLA, Fool’s Gold, and Drumcode — and go to the main site to make your own lineup! One-day passes are available now as well!

Update (3:45pm): Whoa! Big news coming out of Made Event today. Firstly, a pre-registration page has been set up for those interested in special Friday/Saturday or Friday/Sunday combo tickets, an option never offered until this year. Seconds, you can already create a custom lineup to share with friends via Facebook or Twitter on the EZoo main page (scroll down). Finally, the real news… PHASE TWO LINEUP IS HERE! Adding recent hits Dog Blood, Adam Beyer, Mat Zo, and many more, you’ve gotta SEE IT to believe it!

Update (5/07, 3:00pm): Expecting a much fuller “Phase II” lineup any minute now…

Update (7:58pm): And on the flip side, NO BABIES THIS YEAR!!! JUST ANNOUNCED: 18+!!!

Update (7:41pm): Sorry for the delay, but now announcing the Electric Zoo 5-Year Anniversary, double-mainstage headliners! CLICK HERE to see the partial lineup, which includes ezoo-favorites Avicii, Above & Beyond, Tiesto, Armin, and frankly, a whole bunch of other greats we’ve already seen there… Wasn’t entirely thrilled, but these guys are greats for a reason!!

Update (4/09, 12:53am): Main Stage “East” and “West” will have their lineups released at 3pm EST today!! Check back for updates!

Update (3/18): For their fifth year anniversary, EZoo will be including an additional mainstage, for a total of 5 stages!

Electric Zoo is the premier electronic music festival of New York City, hosted on Randall’s Island over Labor Day Weekend each year (August 30 – September 1 for 2013). Produced by Made Events, who work in conjunction with Pacha NYC to host a slew of parties on Governor’s Beach all summer, tickets were initially put on sale last October (if you can believe it), but are currently still available here!!
