Update (11/11): An interesting update from the Electric Daisy Carnival: New York, purported to take place the [em]same weekend[/em] as Mysteryland. Unfortunately, the owners of the farmland have just denied access to the 1994 Woodstock lands… Hmm!

When Mysteryland hits the U.S. next Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26, 2014, it’ll have been 45 years since the last time the legendary Bethel Arts Center was used for a major festival — the Woodstock Music & Art Fair.

Finally, after over a year of negotiations with several major companies, ID&T — the brains behind festivals Sensation, Tomorrowland, TomorrowWorld, and more — have been selected to present the historic site’s first dance music festival. Though Mysteryland has been held across the world since the early ’90s, this will mark its first stop in the United States. Explains Darlene Fedun, CEO of Bethel Woods Centre for the Arts,

We chose ID&T’s Mysteryland brand as the first modern era festival on the hallowed grounds for its belief in many of the same principles as our own organization. Creativity, unity, social responsibility and a focus on the “experience” of the guest. We are delighted to be working with an experienced festival creator and an organization of such high core values. We look forward to welcoming our Mysteryland guests to our wonderful bucolic and peaceful setting here at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. We can’t wait to greet them!

Capped at a small 20,000-person attendance, registration has already opened for the festival, and tickets will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis in two months — so GO REGISTER fast!
