Newest on the scene of “annual” EDM parties, Arrival NYC offers up a slick lineup of hiphop meets dance for a fourth of July rooftop beach party in midtown Manhattan: Wyclef Jean, Lil’ Jon, EC Twins, Ken Loi, Hook N Sling, and Serge Devant. Festivities go from noon to midnight over there at Pier 92, where you’ll also get access to areas for lounging and tanning during the day, as well as the rooftop bar for when night comes and you’re under one of the country’s biggest fireworks displays… Sold yet?

NB: 21+ only, sorry!

It’s been almost a full 24 hours since Mad Decent Records launched the RSVP site for their summer tour of the FREE and AMAZING Mad Decent Block Parties, and that means you need to get your butt over to their page PRONTO, before you miss a FREE show with acts like Zed’s Dead, Dillon Francis, or any of the others in their shi-bangin’ group of artists. Plus, it’s outdoors, over the weekend, and on a pier (at least the one in New York) — that’s a good time!!

Update (6/09): Oh Happy Day! How ’bout some official set times!

Having graduated from a D.C. college just around the corner, I’m embarrassed to say Starscape and I haven’t already met… In case you missed the fine print of the video, Starscape Festival is a one-day, 14-hour, no-holds-barred event held every June in Baltimore, Maryland. Only a four-hour trainride away from New York, this year’s lineup features some amazing artists, like my faves Zedd, Adventure Club, Dada Life, Wolfgang Gartner, and Dillon Francis, to name only a small few! And tickets are SOLD OUT just 75 clams for General Admission, or 175$ for VIP — which includes an open bar all night, just BTW… So check out the full lineup after the jump, and save the date for June 9th!

Amon Tobin isn’t a very familiar name, yet his technological innovations power some of the most famous of DJ and live sets on tour today. His skill with the latest technique of 3D-mapping, wherein a 2D image is adjusted by computer algorithms to be projected onto a highly-reflective, 3-dimensional stage, is comparable with no other. He’s also released another EP, “ISAM”, to accompany the most recent of his mind-boggling computer animations, which premiered in Montreal almost a year to go today and is currently still on tour — he’ll be visiting Camp Bisco this July, and if you are too, DON’T MISS THIS! Learn more about Tobin at his official site, and check out another preview of the ISAM tour after the jump!

“fuckmylife,” aka Deadmau5 (aka Canadian Joel Zimmerman), has updated his SoundCloud with four — count ’em, FOUR — brand new originals! Being his usual goofball self, he’s described them as “SimpsonStep,” “StephenSpielbergStep,” “Pigstep,” and “Cthulhustep,” the last referring to a bizarre 1928 pulp magazine fictional character he’s into… Anyway, quite tasty. Be sure to tune in to live.deadmau5.com too, he’s pretty fun to watch at work (though let’s not tell him that, lest his head grow too large for those helmets…:)

♬ Deadmau5 – Superliminal
♬ Deadmau5 – Fn Pig

Yet the best came a month ago with the release of “The Veldt,” a collaboration with soft-spoken singer Chris James… beautiful. Around the same time, he officially premiered “Maths,” an original mix more heavy on the electronics than the others in this post, but just as awesome.

★ Deadmau5 (ft. Chris James) – The Veldt
♬ Deadmau5 – Maths (Original Mix) or $

And though the first two pricing tiers sold out verrrry quickly, there are still plenty of tix left to the amaaaaazing-looking Veld Music Festival, taking place in Toronto August 4th & 5th and featuring the big Mau5 himself! This dude is NOT to be missed live. Over and over, I’ll go…

★ Avicii (ft. Salem Al Fakir) – Silhouettes (Original Vocal Mix) or $

Right on the heels of my last Avicii blast, in comes more Avicii goodness, this time in the form of a teaser for his upcoming Le7els tour this summer. The tour is set to include a brand new stage debuted just last week at Coachella featuring 3D-style projections à la Deadmau5, Skrillex, and a few others — only his will be projected onto a giant face-mask at the top of which he DJs… Honestly, you have to see it to believe it, and thanks to the magic camera of Drew Ressler at Rukes.com, you practically can!

♬ Lee Dorsey – Great Googa Mooga or $

Plug your ears, EDM fans. There’s a new fest in town, and it’s aimed exactly at all you New Yorkers who saw the words “Electric Daisy Carnival” and asked how one would electrify a daisy, exactly. Yes, for all you sophisticats, The Great GoogaMooga music and food fest is hittin’ hipster Brooklyn the very same weekend as the MetLife is scheduled to burst with neon light, May 19th & 20th — though, get this, boasts FREE ADMISSION! And the lineup ain’t half bad either, with The Roots and Holy Ghost! headlining Saturday, and Hall & Oates and Fitz & the Tantrums saved for Sunday. And while tickets to the music and various amusements are FREE TODAY @ NOON, the gourmet offerings teased at in the video above will cost you an “Extra-Mooga” ticket, or $249.50 + fees. Still not bad, considering the unlimited helpings of 75 different foodies, 35 different deeeeelicious microbrewers, and 30 winemakers! Damn shame they overlap…

Just watched “The Electric Daisy Carnival Experience”, the new documentary about the traveling electronic music fest, and WOW… Besides detailing the amazing and mostly unseen efforts of everyone from stage builders and decorators to costumers and painters (and their mesmerizing results), it showcases clips and interviews with some of my favorite artists, including Kaskade, A-Trak, Steve Aoki, the Swedish House Mafia crew, and plenty more as they geared up for their carnival acts… Just got hella excited for New York’s EDC, happening for the first time this May!
