Gotta hand it to T-Swift and 23-y.o. Belarusian Yashar Gasanov, who dubbed over her track “Safe & Sound” about a year ago, but never really got the recognition he sincerely deserves! Especially with this magical video of fiery orchids…wow.
Seems the latest trend in the biz is to have your own theme song. Armin did it first for his ASOT 600 tour, and now the Swedish House Mafia brothers have devised one. Attached to this sweet preview comes a shockingly high-definition rendering of marbleized musical instruments being blown up… “We Came, We Rave, We Love” is slated for an official release later this spring.
Amon Tobin isn’t a very familiar name, yet his technological innovations power some of the most famous of DJ and live sets on tour today. His skill with the latest technique of 3D-mapping, wherein a 2D image is adjusted by computer algorithms to be projected onto a highly-reflective, 3-dimensional stage, is comparable with no other. He’s also released another EP, “ISAM”, to accompany the most recent of his mind-boggling computer animations, which premiered in Montreal almost a year to go today and is currently still on tour — he’ll be visiting Camp Bisco this July, and if you are too, DON’T MISS THIS! Learn more about Tobin at his official site, and check out another preview of the ISAM tour after the jump!
As if we didn’t already love Flo as it was, mista Harris came along and turned it into a fist-pumping, sure-fire summer anthem! BOOM!
Update (5/27): Reader (and awesome music-picker in her own right) M$ was quick to put out Avicii’s inclusion of “Spectrum” in his recent EDC New York set as well. He also played it at this year’s Ultra, and Pier 94 for New Years… ’cause everybody loves it!
Plug your ears, EDM fans. There’s a new fest in town, and it’s aimed exactly at all you New Yorkers who saw the words “Electric Daisy Carnival” and asked how one would electrify a daisy, exactly. Yes, for all you sophisticats, The Great GoogaMooga music and food fest is hittin’ hipster Brooklyn the very same weekend as the MetLife is scheduled to burst with neon light, May 19th & 20th — though, get this, boasts FREE ADMISSION! And the lineup ain’t half bad either, with The Roots and Holy Ghost! headlining Saturday, and Hall & Oates and Fitz & the Tantrums saved for Sunday. And while tickets to the music and various amusements are FREE TODAY @ NOON, the gourmet offerings teased at in the video above will cost you an “Extra-Mooga” ticket, or $249.50 + fees. Still not bad, considering the unlimited helpings of 75 different foodies, 35 different deeeeelicious microbrewers, and 30 winemakers! Damn shame they overlap…
